Brunch Market

 

Feeling like this is the most color I've worn all year! As a lover of all the spooky things you would think I would stray away from pastel colors. While I do normally prefer a darker color story, my style encompasses many things and I would hate to put myself in a box. I saw my BFF Sammi wearing this dress and I felt inspired to twin with her. We may be thousands of miles apart but I love the idea of us being connected by our wardrobes.

While I have quite an extensive Selkie collection, this is my first Market dress. Sammi was singing the praises of this style and she was right on the money! The Market dress is a light cotton fabric that features puff sleeves with a bow detail, high waist bodice, voluminous skirt with side pockets, an attached back bow detail and a back zippered closure. I love the silhouette of this dress but I'm mostly in love with the fact that it has pockets. You can't see it but I'm holding my phone, keys and my camera remote in those pockets! I'm wearing a size small and honestly, I feel like I could have sized down to an XS. Most of my Selkie dresses are size small or medium but this dress runs a little bigger.

The Brunch Market dress is available in sizes XXS-6X and if you're not a big fan of the colors, they do offer it in a few other prints! This might be the first Market dress in my collection but I feel like it won't be the last...

Red Roses

 

Do you ever fall in love with a dress, buy it and then completely forget about it? This beautiful rose dress from Vixen by Micheline Pitt was one of those pieces that completely got lost in my closet. To be fair, it's very easy to get looked over in there! Now that the temps are warming up again I put this stunning beauty on to enjoy some time alone in nature.

The 1950's sundress is a cotton sateen piece that features adjustable satin straps with attached bows, a gathered bust, fitted waist, gathered skirt with huge hidden side pockets, back zip closure and matching satin belt. I didn't bring it with me but it also comes with a matching chiffon scarf. This dress is so comfy and easy to wear! I'm wearing my usual size small and the fit is spot on. While the skirt is perfectly voluminous on its own, I opted to wear a Vixen petticoat underneath for some added but subtle volume.

I'm not normally someone who wears white but this dress definitely is an exception to the rule!

The 1950's Sundress in Red Vintage Roses is currently available for preorder but should be releasing in a few weeks. It's available in sizes XS-4X and if you're not a red or swing dress fan, this print is also available in a yellow rose version and a wiggle dress version!

Black Illuminated

Spring has been peeking through here and there and I couldn't be happier! Don't get me wrong, I love California winter but throwing on a bit of color and feeling the warm sun on my skin sounds like absolute perfection right now. I've been saving this stunning set from Samantha Pleet for a warmer day and I had to photograph it when that day finally came.

The Armour Corset and Daydream Pants are both in Samantha's Black Illuminated print. It's colorful and full of flora and fauna (including a unicorn!), perfect to welcome back spring. The corset has boning and a functional lace up corset in the front. Luckily, it also has a zipper in the back so you don't have to lace it up every time you wear it. The pants are high waist and super wide leg, perfect for my hourglass figure. I mean it when I say I'm obsessed with this outfit, I wish I could wear it everyday! The pants get more use because I can also pair them with a black top for more coverage but I truly love these pieces together.

Peanuts BFF

 

Bianca and I both love Snoopy and the Peanuts gang so we were very excited when we were asked to shoot pieces from the new Harvey's collection! This arrangement of bags, dog accessories and more are focused on the BFF friendship between Snoopy and Woodstock. Since Bianca and I are BFF's in real life, we had the easiest time getting into the spirit for this launch!

Midnight Masquerade

 

Black is my favorite color to wear and I can't imagine having too many black dresses in my closet. When this stunning Midnight Masquerade dress from Lively Ghosts dropped I knew I needed it! I'm a little out of sorts lately because my family is going on our first family vacation in a few weeks! Since we rescue and rehabilitate senior/special needs dogs, we've never had the chance to go away as a family. Someone always gets left behind! So we decided to take Bianca to Disney World! We're going all out for this trip and while I'm excited, I'm also stressed about what to pack. I'm used to California weather, what do you mean it just rains on a whim?! Wish me luck trying to get everything together before we leave!
